This update took me a lot longer than I originally wanted to. I wanted to update this blogs look since it was the new year.

The character that is featured here is not a new character but a very old character. Obviously she's an elf with fire elemental properties. She's supposed to represent a phoenix in many ways. This character's name is Roselle. Her name was originally Sakumi but due to me growing away from my otaku craze and strange obsessions of Asian cultures I decided to change her name and make her appear to be of more European ethnicity, instead of Japanese. I think it's more fitting for her to be European with the background story that I have written for her. Eventually I will write something up about her for everyone to read and possibly enjoy.

This is a story that I have been writing, it is unrevised.

"This morning I woke up with the bright spring sun shining it’s self through the white lace window curtain. It made pretty little sun speckles all over the room, much like how the sun light shines through the leaves of a tree and patterns the ground. It was just simply one of those mornings that you could lay in bed all day, because it was the right temperature, and just the right lighting. Satsu had the same idea she too stayed in bed but sat up right against the wall with her blanket covering her lap and an opened book glued to her nose. Satsu loved a good book, especially one in the fantasy genre. After a few more minutes of pure laziness, I finally rolled out of bed..."

The story should be finished by spring.

Black Cat, Punk! Goth?

So during my journey of new ideas I came up with this simple picture. A black cat themed picture. I didn't think about making it orange and green instead of pink and blue. Oh well though. I still like it and it gives the theme out pretty well.
No this isn't a Carmen themed picture, although it looks so much like Carmen. It isn't her. Supposed to a rebellious and misunderstood black cat, that everyone has always associated with superstition. Poor kitties.

It's been said that in history people have killed or the people who ever have kept a black cat in the middle ages were severely punished or even killed. The bible thumpers back then believed that black cats were the companions or a familiars to witches. They also believed black cats were demons or apart of sorcery. Once again... poor kitties. They couldn't help that they were born with black fur coats. Anyways.

That was on the more negative superstition of black cats. Black cats were also believed to bring good luck in other cultures too. From Wikipedia! "The view of black cats being favorable creatures is attributed specifically to the Egyptian goddess Bast (or Bastet), the cat goddess. Egyptian households believed they could gain favor from Bastet by hosting black cats in their household. This view was held in the early 17th Century by the English monarch Charles I. Upon the death of his treasured pet black cat, he is said to have lamented that his luck was gone. True to his claim, he was arrested the very next day and charged with high treason."

Pirates in the 19th century had all kinds of luck for the innocent black feline. Like if the black cat walked towards them, the person will have bad luck, and if the black cat walked away from the person, they would have good luck.

Oh people and their silly superstition.
Black kitties are just normal kitties that are born with black fur. Just a genetic thing. ANYWAYS. Art time.

Submitting a picture that is apart of a big, BIG project of mine. It's new to me and to the people who are interested in my work but it's very different from my calendar projects. This is watermarked for it's protection so... it can only be sold the new way that I'm going to sell it.

I haven't had much time to work on this although I wanted to test something. You can probably tell what I was going to do. Which was draw/paint a picture under grey scale colors and then go over it with multiply and overlay with some colors. I noticed that quite a few artists do this and they also add lots of details as they work on the picture. I know I need to update with something much more pleasing so I will get to that but for now I'm just really busy. :x Loosing weight, literary project, and family issues. Yays!

Sorry for not updating as much, been very busy. Lol I really need to update more and the art block is still going. I had restarted this drawing at least 7 times before I made myself settle on this. Still working on my literary project, but will continue to doodle and draw, been working up on some sketch book doodles that I'll post soon.

Cold air is coming from the fall season. I cannot wait. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Thanksgiving! Pretty leaves! No more hot weather! I love it. I'll be able to sleep easier and work easier as soon as there is more chilly weather.

Kasumi from Dead or Alive.
I find Kasumi inspirational cause of her pretty sakura ninja outfit, and when she twirls with the petals around her to disapear-teleport or whatever. Correct me if any of you actually know what she does. I find it very pretty and gracefull. I'm not one to draw her super sexy like most fanart is drawn of her. However I'll try to draw her as pretty as I can. Even though this fanart I drew doesn't do her justice. Kasumi is my main inspiration for my original character Sakumi. Who is a fire elemented elf. I don't post many picture of Sakumi but in the future, perhaps I will.

ANYWAYS. Onto the art. The reference I found while browsing through google pictures. I found more references of Kasumi but I lost the links. Sometimes I copy and paste the reference(s) right onto the picture. Cause sometimes I find myself switching back and forth a lot just to make sure things look right.

The Lineart. Sometimes the lineart just looks much better than the finished product.

The background and the starting the skin. Sometimes I wonder what I'm thinking when I work on the skin. I tend to give it weird colors but refuse to change them until I match up the eyes and the hair to it to see how it looks.

Her outfits shading tend to show as soft pinks or purples I've notice from the references. I guess it actually depends on the artist.

Added the red trimming and the gold that I have seen in a few references.

Finished! I still think I didn't do her justice. Oh well.

Sorry that I haven't updated in awhile. Been busy. I went to a theme park last Thursday! It was fun. Walking on concrete for long periods of time with no shoes really make your feet hurt after awhile.

Soon I'll do another inspiration fan art. I don't have a lot of motivation for drawing other than fan art.

Been working on a literary project I've been thinking about posting some pieces from the project onto the blog. Wish me luck on this project please! I hope to succeed with this once the project is finished.

KOS-MOS, Xenosaga fanart.

So KOS-MOS is one of the characters that inspires me. Xenosaga was such an intriguing story. In my opinion, KOS-MOS has got to be the best android character in video game history. Disagree if you want, but that's what I think. Her first design (As shown in this post.) and her final design are my favorite designs. Her look changes in each of the games too.

Starting with a sketch. We all know how those are done.

Lineart. Normally when I get close to finishing a lineart, I get anxious and half of the work ends up looking like crap. This time it actually looks more pleasing to the eye.

THE BACKGROUND. To me backgrounds can be very fun and kinda challenging depending what you want to do.

Mehhhh colouringggggggg. The hair was fun to do.

Finally finished. It took me a whole day. Too long.

Anyways, been listening to Vampire Academy audio books. Pretty intriguing story. For anyone who enjoys a good vampire story with good romance, I recommend this book series.
Personally I think it's written cleverly around the vampire world. I almost even consider drawing fanart of the characters for this story, my interpretation.

However to each is own. Don't flame me for my opinions. ;3

Zherlthsh, from Ragnarok Online. She's a mini boss. I don't think I have seen a game design so inconsistent. In her sprite, looks like how it should be, then her card is different. Horn isn't attached to her mask. Then her mask illustration picture shows that her mask has a blue eye. Then in her pet illustration (cause you can capture her as a pet.) Her eye is white with a dark slit. Such as how it was drawn in my picture.

I'm so tired. I'm sure my friends are just as tired. They have been working hard on PlatinumRO. A lot to fix, but still running strong.

Finished one of my calendar mermaid pictures, this one is for June.
I got kinda lazy on the seahorses, probably shouldn't but I did. Oh the lazy habits of a digital artist.

The reference picture I used is from a site called, Glassbox design. (I think)

Seahorses are one of my FAVORITE animals, so cute and pretty too. Very unique in their ways. If I could I'd keep a couple as pets just so I can look at them every day. <3 seahorses!

Working on a mermaid picture for my 2012 calendar. The other picture is for a birthday cake. For a few years now I have done some birthday cake drawings for close friends and family. I have a few pictures of what I have done on cakes, I wish i could do more though.

The pictures would look better if the cake is not frozen, they tend to run I noticed.
Some people like to freeze their cakes to keep better until the planned event.

Weather is getting warmer. :( I dislike hot weather.
